What We Think:
Producers of 2008’s Twilight rewarded director Catherine Hardwicke for her work on the blockbuster teen vampire flick by hiring Chris Weitz to helm the sequel. Fans of Stephenie Meyer’s harlequin saga initially seethed at Hardwicke’s snub, but all was forgiven when the first dreamy images from New Moon appeared online, and Team Weitz prevailed.

The newest chapter finds Bella Swan's (Stewart) relationship with her bloodsucking boyfriend, Edward Cullen (Pattinson), threatened by the escalating conflict between the vampires and their traditional enemies, the werewolves. Bella’s growing attachment to Jacob Black (Lautner), a member of the lycanthropic Quileute tribe, further complicates matters.

Cool to Know:
Each member in the film's "Wolf Pack" had to be of Native decent. Chaske Spencer is Lakota (Sioux), Bronson Pelletier is Cree-Metis, Bronson Pelletier is Purepecha (Tarasco), Kiowa Gordon is Hualapai, and Tyson Houseman is Cree.
